There is ～がある

「～がある」という文章を作る時は、どこにあるのか？という英語（on, by, under, in）なども一緒に覚えましょう。

There is＋名詞で～がある

主語は名詞です。There isの文は、be動詞の後が主語になりますから、be動詞はis, was, are, wereなど使い分けます。be動詞の過去形にも注意しましょう。

There is＋単数名詞＋場所～がある

There are＋複数名詞＋場所～がある

例）
There is a book on the table. ～の上に
There is a book by the table. ～のそばに
There are some books under the table. ～の下に
There are two small books in the bag. ～の中に

There was a cat in the garden. （お庭に猫がいたよ）
There were many people in the station. （駅にはたくさんの人がいた）
